Phil McAleer

Eric Mowbray has over 20 years experience in the creation and management of business solutions, focused on customer-facing technology in payment processing, retail and transport ticketing systems.

He has a chemistry degree together with a postgraduate diploma in business IT and is a Prince2 certified practitioner. With a global career spanning every continent, Eric has previously been based in Germany, Italy, England and New Zealand. Since 1994, Eric has been consulting from Australia and his clients include major corporate retailers, government departments and industry suppliers.

Eric has managed significant businesses, including an operational unit with annual turnover of $140 million as well as a multi-million dollar recruitment agency.

Eric’s strengths are in communicating across the business / technology divide, understanding diverse stakeholder needs, managing multi-supplier projects and change management.

Phil McAleer’s strength, developed over 30 years working in many different settings and working with business projects where technology is a key enabler. He has extensive experience working in business areas related to card programs and acceptance, card transaction switching and retail technology.

In the last 15 years, Phil has worked on many large card industry projects, mainly in the role of Project Manager. He has proven experience in defining business requirements and managing the resulting technology projects to ensure the business outcomes are met.

Following a successful 20-year career with one of the world’s leading oil companies, Phil has worked with many Australian clients, including the country’s two largest retailers, its most successful fast food company, a major bank and a second major oil company. He has also worked for international organisations specialising in the areas of fleet cards, consulting and payments technology. Phil has worked in Australia, China, Thailand and New Zealand.
